About the Urban / Architectural Designer Role
We are seeking a talented Urban / Architectural Designer to join our London team, contributing to the design and delivery of diverse projects across the UK and Middle East. Working with 160+ team members in London, you’ll collaborate with experts in architecture, urban design, and landscape, translating ambitious concepts into exceptional projects that embody BIG’s vision.
Urban / Architectural Designer Role – What We’re Looking For
We welcome Urban and Architectural Designers who demonstrate:
- Strong conceptual, design, and graphic abilities, capable of generating innovative ideas.
- Proficiency in developing, editing, and refining project drawings and models.
- A solid understanding of urban design and technical detailing.
- Experience in managing project stakeholders, coordinating with local authorities, and working alongside sub-consultants.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a capacity for taking initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for advancing discussions on urban design, mobility, ecology, and infrastructure.
Skills & Experience Required
- Professional qualification in Architecture or an equivalent overseas credential.
- 3-7 years post-qualification experience in architecture or design, with a background or qualification in Urban Design or Landscape.
- Experience with master planning projects; knowledge of projects in the Middle East is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Rhino, with skills in Revit, Grasshopper, or GIS as a plus.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); fluency in Arabic is an asset.
