Part II Architectural Assistant – outstanding presentation and relationship-building skills

Gensler’s London office is currently in search of a Part II Architectural Assistant to join our team in the Summer of 2024. The ideal candidate will bring experience in managing the client process, along with outstanding presentation and relationship-building skills. You should possess the ability to comprehend and translate client needs and specifications effectively.

As a self-motivated team player with a positive, communicative, and collaborative approach, the Architectural Assistant will work closely with colleagues across Gensler’s practice areas, as well as with vendors and stakeholders at all levels. You will be responsible for providing guidance to less experienced members of the Interiors Team, offering advice and support as needed.

Part II Architectural Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to all project phases, from project strategy and test fits to schematic plans and conceptual designs for schematic design. Refine design solutions for design development, collaborating with multiple disciplines.
  • Produce graphic presentations, including 3D renderings, for client presentations.
  • Assist in preparing construction documents, including plans, elevations, details, and specifications.
  • Manage team and client communication effectively.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Contribute to our office and firm culture, initiatives, mentorship, and talent development.
  • Support Principals in developing client, contractor, and design team communications, fostering and maintaining strong external and internal relationships.

Part II Architectural Assistant Qualifications:

  • Masters’ Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Design, spanning all stages of design and development.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Interest in Sustainability and Sustainable Design.
  • Highly motivated, with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Strong collaboration skills, good self-organisation, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to autonomously and continuously expand your professional knowledge.
