Associate Landscape Architect – Strong Project Planner

We are seeking an experienced and adept Associate Landscape Architect to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the ‘Project Leader’ for selected large-scale, complex, or high-profile projects, overseeing all aspects from concept to construction. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to Senior Landscape Architects (SLAs) in managing and delivering their projects effectively.

As the Associate Landscape Architect, you will be the main point of contact and decision-maker for clients, consultants, and contractors. Your responsibilities will include attending client meetings, conducting site visits, and ensuring project progress aligns with expectations. Reporting to the Group Design Director/Design Director, you will maintain high standards of project delivery throughout.

Associate Landscape Architect Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects confidently, maintaining high standards and actively engaging with the design team.
  • Assume decision-making authority and overall technical and financial responsibility for projects supervised by SLAs.
  • Supervise project progress from concept to construction, ensuring adherence to design direction and client satisfaction.
  • Lead client communications post-project handover from the commercial team.
  • Manage time, resources, and expenditure efficiently.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure compliance with company standards and project briefs.
  • Provide mentorship to team members to foster growth and capability development.
  • Manage project documentation and administration in line with company standards and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures during design development.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple landscape design projects of varying complexity.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
  • Excellent software skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office. Knowledge of Sketch-Up, Lumion, Revit, Rhino is advantageous.

Associate Landscape Architect Position Requirements:

  • University Degree (Bachelors/Post Graduation) in landscape architecture or architecture.
  • CMLI UK or equivalent advanced-level professional qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of landscape architecture experience on substantial design projects.
  • Experience in managing project teams.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
