About the Part II Architectural Assistant Role:

We seek an exceptional Part II Architectural Assistant to enrich our London studio. This role offers a remarkable chance to join our talented team. Successful candidates must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and present high-quality examples of their work with their application. We value agility, flexibility, and a proactive mindset, along with a capacity to graphically articulate conceptual ideas.

Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of UK BIM standards, including BS EN ISO 19650 suite, PAS & BS 1192 suite of standards, and delivery of Government Softa Landings using COBie.

Part II Architectural Assistant Role & Responsibilities:

  • Embrace, apply, and share Purcell’s core expertise and specialisms.
  • Collaborate closely with our core team on ongoing projects.
  • Aid in producing 2D and 3D drawings and models.
  • Contribute to developing concept, schematic, and detailed design packages.
  • Attend site surveys and visits.
  • Prepare high-quality presentation documents.
  • Foster the development of a capable team.
  • Uphold and promote the ‘One Family’ ethos.
  • Enhance our design reputation.
  • Adhere to technical standards set by Purcell and the wider industry.
  • Contribute to winning work, project delivery, and project profitability.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural studies equivalent to Part 1.
  • Master’s degree in architectural studies equivalent to Part 2.
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting (e.g., AutoCAD), 3D modelling (e.g., Sketchup), and graphic presentation software (e.g., Photoshop).
  • Interest in contemporary and traditional design within complex historic contexts.
  • Proactive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Ability to manage workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Personable, confident, and possess a strong team spirit.

Desirable:

  • Experience with BIM software (e.g., REVIT).
  • Design capabilities, including proficient hand-drawing and sketching skills.
  • Strong presentation skills (visual, written, and spoken) and contribution to high-quality documentation.
  • Understanding of industry technical standards and statutory requirements.
